Sparking Curiosity, The Rest Follows
The story of Taiwan Bar is not just a success story of new media.
It is a reimagining of how learning can happen. When knowledge is no longer something confined to exams,
but something people open with a smile and choose to question on their own education itself begins to change.
Duration:2015~2022

Rationale
Taiwan Bar has always been clear about its role: it is a content-driven new media company.
Its goal is not to teach in the traditional sense,
but to present knowledge in ways that are humorous and visually engaging—so that people want to learn.
They believe in a simple idea: Comedy is tragedy, given time.
Humor, therefore, is not merely for entertainment.
It is a way to engage with topics that are otherwise heavy or difficult to understand.
Their approach is straightforward: first spark interest, then provoke thought.
Initiatives
The internet is never short of viral videos. But what Taiwan Bar aims for is long-term creation.
They hold firmly to several principles:
- Content must be developed as series, not one-off pieces
- Production must be consistent, not sporadic
- Each episode should have time to grow and resonate
- Beyond videos, they build characters, narratives, and communities
Creativity and humor, without discipline, cannot last.
At one point, we shared something honestly: We may not make you wealthy, but we hope to help you keep going.
From then on, each year we selected a theme and co-created a series with Taiwan Bar.
From Animated History of Taiwan, to 123 Investors, to Legal Bar, to Stories of Taichung, there was only one principle: complete respect for creative freedom.
Our only request was this: each series must experiment with a different style and form of expression.
This was not only to improve the work, but also a kind of stress test for a growing creative team.
Impact
In 2017, what began as an educational content IP officially opened for licensing.
Two years later, the Dazhouchou Education Association was established.
The core belief has remained unchanged: The key to learning is not pressure—it is curiosity.
They often describe it this way: Rather than handing children a fishing rod, first help them believe that fish is worth catching.
Through localized self-learning resources and engaging digital content, they hope to encourage children to explore the world on their own.
The story of Taiwan Bar is not merely a success in new media.
It represents a new imagination of learning.
When knowledge is no longer something to memorize for exams, but something people open with curiosity and question with intention, education can begin to transform in meaningful ways.
