If people only look once, take a photo, and then move on, that’s merely an exhibition—not change.  Of course, some argue that the real solution to marine waste lies in source reduction, not beach cleanups.  RE-THINK has heard these critiques.But they choose to believe one thing: If tomorrow can be even slightly better than today, then the path is worth walking.  

What makes Wu Wei Wu truly special begins after the donations arrive. The entire store is run by the children themselves. From inventory and display to pricing and sales—everything is managed by them.  

In the corner of a truck, along an ordinary delivery route, something beautiful can happen: public good becomes part of everyday work. It does not require doing something extra—only doing what one already does best, but with greater meaning. Once the system begins to move, goodwill is no longer a one-time effort. It becomes a cycle—continuously carrying books, and the joy of reading, to more children.

When Professor Lan Wei-Ying chose to give up the security of a predictable public-school pension and step forward—calling on retired and active teachers to become partner mentors, accompanying those who continue to work hard within the system yet often feel isolated—we did not hesitate to walk alongside her.From community to system.This is not merely the story of an association, but a movement that began with teachers supporting teachers and gradually worked its way toward influencing the broader education system.

If a child spends twelve years in school, the time they spend with textbooks adds up to about 12,760 hours.That is equivalent to watching 6,000 films, or visiting an art museum 3,000 times.If during those long hours the textbooks accompanying them every day do more than transmit knowledge—if they also nurture a sense of beauty—then after twelve years, could it quietly reshape how an entire generation understands what beauty is?

TFT’s story is not merely a successful case of an education initiative. It is also a story about believing in the younger generation—and being willing to entrust them with responsibility.
